It is always a wonderful time to visit Krakow Poland due to its mild temperatures. Below are a few of the recommended sightseeing spots you must checkout while you are in Krakow.
Main Market Square
This busy square becomes a hub of activity during the summertime. Lots of space and ample eating and shopping options can keep you engaged for hours. The historic nature of the square’s architecture and design lend it to being quite the romantic spot for couples looking for a night out on the town in a fascinating city full of adventure.
Stained Glass Museum
Throughout Europe you may notice the great varieties of glass, from clear – functional glass, to more artistic stained pieces. Window glass often becomes an opportunity of expression for local artists. The Krakow Stained Glass Museum also offers guests a chance to participate in the creation of their own stained glass pieces. Get a real idea of the creativity and skill required for the most complex of pieces by trying this artform for yourself.
The Kazimierz District offers a glimpse in to the historically Jewish culture of the region, and if you elect to join a tour guide, can truly immerse you in the rich history of the city. Typically held late into June or early July, the Jewish Culture Festival brings the city to life and is a great opportunity to learn about traditional Jewish music, dance, and food.
Dating back to the 14th century, Wawel Castle has been home to many kings and includes extravagant courtyards, chambers, and chapels all previously restricted to royal residents. This special location also happens to be home to ‘Lady with an Empire’ which is one of just three oil paintings by Leonardo Da Vinci. Check the listings before you travel; this exhibit will only be on site from April 1st to May 7th.
